AMS-PAR Is Refreshing Back Office Computer Systems
AMS-PAR is making a significant investment in refreshing the back office computer systems at our Corporate Headquarters. The changes are vast and include upgrades to servers and network infrastructure. The investment allows for continued growth, enhances data security, and deploys cutting edge technology. Over the past 5 years, technology has progressed to a point that our staff can work securely from anywhere in the world while still having full access to all network resources. Our engagements have become more complex and very data intensive. The new tools will enable us to analyze this data more effectively and eliminate the need for maintaining extensive paper files.
Dave Johnson said, "We used to have thousands of boxes in warehouses. Now we store images and data files on our servers improving security and making data available to users wherever they are in the world."
A former Partner of a Public Accounting firm recently stated that AMS-PAR’s system tools and workflow methodologies are superior to any that he used at the large national public accounting firms with whom he worked.
AMS-PAR does not share its trade secrets and proprietary workflow methodologies, but can say that virtualization of servers and desktops are a big part of its data center. The virtualization allows for a much denser data center and allows more to get done with fewer individual boxes. Technology that allows for nearly full redundancy of all servers and storage enables our users to be more productive more of the time and ensures client data is secured all of the time.
As a whole AMS-PAR’s data center has been very stable with downtime for the past few years measured in a few hours excluding events such as hurricane Ike.
